Set high on a plateau in the heart of the Amathole Mountains, the Hogsback Inn was the first hostelry on the mountain and was built in 1880 by Mr Collins.
Today, almost 140 years on, Hogsback Inn has grown from its humble beginnings of providing accommodation and shelter to weary travellers, travelling between Alice and Cathcart (no indoor plumbing back then; guests would have to bathe in the stream running through our garden).
Hogsback Inn is not only an olde world Country Hotel providing for much needed R&R from the stresses of modern day life, but is also a sought after (and very popular) Wedding and Conference Venue.
We look forward to welcoming you to our little piece of paradise!!
